                                    BETHLEHEM/SACRAMNTO SISTER CITIES
Mayor Dr. Victor Batarseh signed the declaration in Bethlehem on May 19 in the presence of the
Sacramento organizers led by  Brigitte Jaensch and Patricia Dougherty. The declaration had been approved by the Sacramento City Counsel and signed by Mayor Kevin Johnson on December 15, 2009. Also attending were Bethlehem Association members Lily and Albert Hazbun. This was the end of a
very long and difficult effort which was delayed because of opposition by certain groups in Sacramento. The Mayor was very gracious and thanked the organizers. he also asked for an opinion from former Bethlehemite Albert Hazbun who thanked the Committee and also expressed his appreciation for members of the Bethlehem Association and the Equestrian Order of the Holy
Sepulcher who wrote to Mayor Johnson the Sacramento City Counsel supporting this initiative.
